The project was based on Shopify e-commerce platform and content management system. Basic requirement of client was to handling, marketing and growth of one product. There were major functionalities and design challenges. As the products on the site were for children it had to have the look that could attract children. Thus there were leafs, bottles and flowers hanging between sections along with fruits. Believe me when you visit the site you will find it utterly interesting and properly designed, doesn’t matter which device you are using. All the pages and design elements on the pages are totally responsive in all the screens.
With Shopify, design is the most challenging process to execute. Shopify only lets you use the pre-installed templates; you cannot add your own or combine them. Therefore, adapting the design to the available PSDs was the most challenging portion.
The addition of the reviews area presented the additional functional problems beyond design elements. Users can add written and video reviews in this section. Additionally, the client requested the reviews page design.
As any project at Greencube Solution is always pre-checked and then quoted we were asked to find the solutions to these problems. Our first preference was to find the custom solutions to these problems. We had a solution for the design adjustments, but it would take longer than the client had anticipated. Regarding other minor issues, such as accordions on the product detail page, direct add to cart from the homepage, we attempted custom solutions. One of the highly qualified and dedicated developers was assigned.
The client requested that the design be kept consistent across all displays because the website needs to be responsive. So, we enlisted the aid of designers. Before making any design adjustments using CSS and JS, we first integrated all the components through Shopify’s backend. We had to verify that each function was operating as intended once the design had been preserved. For instance, the design required numerous successive portions to be overlapped, thus we had to determine whether any accordions would open without ruining the design.
While the App was used to create the Reviews section. Reviews were conducted using the third-party Shopify app “YotPo.” However, there was still a problem with it. Because the design of the App’s sections needed to be modified as per client’s approved PSD. We had to use customized CSS to accomplish it.
The QA team then went through each screen and fixed several of the errors. After the website was launched, the client claims that users thought the website was appealing and engaging. Within a short period of the website’s inception, the products sold extremely well.
